what is eat.st?
We are a group of traders who think it would be a damn shame if the excitement and magic of selling food in the open-air didn’t reach more people. This is a straight-talking, flavour favouring world that finds gratification in the multitude of interactions that the public’s desire to eat well provides.
Since 2009 when we first had the idea to drive British street food forward, eat.st has grown in size and momentum. We are excited about taking all our members with us as we strive to cultivate a more exuberant street food-scape. The changes we have seen so far in Britain’s curbside dining culture is huge and we are delighted to have been at the fore of much of the shift in awareness.
Choosing our members is something we take very seriously. We need to believe in what they’re doing 100% in order to sing about them from the rooftops. Once traders are riding with us we provide an instant and invaluable eat.st support network, a wealth of advice and access to greater event opportunities.
We want everyone to do well and so we need to provide the environment to be able to make this happen. For a small annual membership fee we offer:
-
In-house personal support from us - any question, problem or concern can be directed to us by phone or email.
-
Access to the eat.st forum for a wide net of advice and opinions from all of our members.
-
Increased trading opportunities both for public and private events. We are contacted all the time by small and large events organisers who are after something more interesting. eat.st is becoming increasingly known to be in good supply of just that and we love matching the right trader with the best events.
-
Exposure to a broader audience. The media and the food-loving public are jumping on street food because it’s real - no slick gimmicks and over-wrought marketing, just proper food, served by the person who made it and with the alchemy of eating in the open air thrown in. This is not a ‘craze’ but a swelling grass-roots movement that can help transform the polarised foodscape of Britain. We are gunning for it every step of the way and regularly Tweet and blog about our members and the wider culture of street food trading in general. Through eat.st our traders are showcased to a huge amount of people.
